While advances in medical science continue to improve outcomes in many countries, the report highlights major disparities in cancer prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment and palliative care between developed and developing nations.
WHO emphasizes that millions of lives can still be saved through stronger investment in prevention, early detection, universal health coverage, vaccination programmes, tobacco control, healthier lifestyles and equitable access to quality healthcare.
